Saturday, March 11, 2017 is Opening Day for Trenholm Little League’s twenty seventh Season! Team photographs will be taken outside the Trenholm Park building on the multi purpose field beginning at 9:00 am. Parents, you will receive your player's team’s picture schedule from your coach.
You’ll want to arrive by no later than 10:00 am to find parking and locate your team in preparation for the main ceremony. We recommend coming to Trenholm Park by driving down Covenant Road and parking at the Dollar General parking lot across from Trenholm Park and other lots to avoid as much traffic congestion as possible. We have more parking information below on this web page, including parking maps.
There’s a lot for you to do on Opening Day at Trenholm Park! We'll have several food vendors. We’ll have sponsors for you to meet, including Kassy Alia's Heroes in Blue Project, the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Organization and the Columbia Fireflies, the New York Mets' South Atlantic League Minor League Baseball team and a sponsor of TLL.
At 10:30 am, all the teams will begin lining up for the parade onto the field, and the main ceremony will start at 11:00 am. When all forty two teams arrive on the field, a color guard will present the flag and the national anthem will be sung by Sherri Jones, Trenholm Little League Board Member.
Special Guests include Bobby Haney, Shortstop for the 2010 National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks; Kassy Alia, founder of the Heroes in Blue Project; Sonny Jones, Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina and founder of Trenholm Little League, along with other special guests.
After the ceremony, we will have a series of Coach Pitch Baseball and Coach Pitch Softball exhibition games that will begin at 12 pm and continue for several hours (exhibition schedule will be coming soon). Team pictures will continue throughout the day.
The twenty seventh Opening Day for Trenholm Little League promises to be one of the greatest opening days ever in the history of the league, with plenty of things to do for everyone! We hope to see you and your families at Trenholm Park Saturday, March 11! Go Trenholm Little League!

A map of the parking locations near the park for the general public is provided on the first image below as well as a map of satellite parking locations is provided on the second image below. Please park only in these approved lots.
Lot 1 (Trenholm Park) on this map holds about 100 cars and is to be reserved for guests and also for handicapped, elderly, and those in carpools (≥6 in a vehicle). Persons with pre-‐arranged reserved spaces are expected to arrive by 10:15 am. Enter via the stoplight and check in with the parking volunteers at the entry for directions. Parking controls for this lot will be removed at 10:30 am.
Lots 2 (Soaring Eagles), 3 (Dollar General Rim), 4 (Harmony Gravel) and 5 (Little Peoples) will be open to anyone, first-‐come-‐first-‐served. We recommend that cars heading for the reserved (Park) lot or to Little People’s parking come down Bethel Church Road; cars heading to Dollar General, Soaring Eagles or Harmony would do best to come via Covenant Rd. Parking volunteers will be present at each location to control parking and give notices when a lot is full.
We expect to have a Forest Acres police officer stationed at the main entrance to the park to establish a crosswalk for participants in opening day.
The nearest satellite parking is at Timmerman, with a capacity of ~60 cars. Timmerman is reached via Atascadero/Springhill Rd/Woodmere Dr. From there, a sidewalk provides a path to the park that is 0.35 miles (7 minutes) long. The path is marked in purple on the map; it proceeds via Atascadero to Bethel Church Rd., then along Bethel Church Road until you reach a point opposite the park, then via the Forest Acres Police across Bethel Church Road.
The second and third satellite parking lots are located at Satchel Ford Elementary School. Both make use of the east “walk” gate to the park on Ivy Hall Drive as the nearest entrance to the park.
The paved lot at the Satchel Ford administration building holds approximately 80 cars. To get to the park from there is a 0.45 mile (9 minute) walk. Walkers should follow Oak Hill Rd away from Satchel Ford Road, turning left on Ravenwood Rd, and then right on Landrum Dr. and finally left on Ivy Hall Dr. to the walk entrance.
The unpaved lot on the northwest corner of the Satchel Ford property is probably capable of holding 200 cars itself. To get to the park from there is a 0.5 mile, 10-‐minute walk. Walkers should follow Landrum Dr, turning right on Ivy Hall Dr. to the east entrance.
Those using Satchel Ford Elementary parking can make use of a drop-‐off indicated on the Satellite map in yellow. To drop off, cars should enter Ivy Hall Drive from the east, drop walkers at the east entrance to the park, then exit west, turning right on Bethel Church Rd for the return to Satchel Ford. Please try to stick to the recommended direction of travel to avoid traffic jams and occupying pedestrian lanes.
Rained-‐Out.com will be used to communicate information about the status of parking lots and traffic as needed. We also recommend that anyone comfortable walking plan to park at either Timmerman or Satchel Ford, and make use of the available drop-‐off.
